Mission Statement: To be a premiere learning community that is nurturing, inclusive and develops high achieving citizens.

Vision:  Withers will provide our community a world class education in a 21st century learning environment.

Withers Elementary School is a DISD public school in the heart of Dallas. We were lovingly dubbed "The Little School that Can" by the Dallas Morning News. A Title I school exceeding expectations, more than 50% of our students are considered “Economically Disadvantaged,” which why support outside of our immediate resources are essential to creating a thriving, world class educational experience for our diverse community.

In addition to offering academically rigorous coursework for both traditional track and dual language students, Withers offers an array of amazing opportunities. The school offers students an inspiring garden, Orchestra, Gifted and Talented programs, Accelerated Reader supplemental activities, Destination Imagination, Green Team, Student Council, basketball, cheerleading, chess club, Lego club and so much more.  Our tireless teachers, staff, and parent volunteers in the PTA, Latino Advisory Council and Dad’s Club are continuously working to keep our school reaching new heights!

Withers continues to forge ahead toward new milestones in achievement, like a trailblazing dual-language program that has grown so much it requires a lottery to meet demand and still has an extensive waiting list.  More than half the student body (53.3%) is eligible for free- and reduced-priced lunch, a circumstance that in many areas would translate into a high mobility rate. However, this is not the case at Withers, where our mobility rate is 5.8 percent. The parents and students value the academic, social and emotional well-being fostered at Withers, and request to remain at the school even when they are displaced from their residence and find arriving at school on time a challenge. Our staff includes several members with more than 15 years of service at Withers. A notable level of parent participation has created a thriving and productive PTA and PTO that support school needs and provide valuable input on the direction of our campus.
